The Korean car maker Hyundai, in its attempt to strengthen its hold on the lucrative Indian car market and compete with the leader Maruti even more fiercely, is going to roll out another sub compact small car named Hyundai Eon. Hyundai Eon is the smallest and most inexpensive car to be launched in India by the Korean car maker.

There are a number of reasons that make Hyundai Eon to be poised to take the Indian car market by storm. This car has the potential to be another Santro which had seen an extraordinary success in India. Hyundai Eon is loosely based on Hyundai Santro. Engine:

The engine of Hyundai Eon is a 814 cc 3 cylinder gasoline engine with MPFI motor that can generate the maximum power of 56 PS at 5500 rpm and 75 Nm of maximum torque at 4000 rpm has a top speed of 135 kmpl. The hyundai eon mileage (fuel economy) is 18.0 kmpl and 21.1 kmpl in City and Highway respectively with a Fuel tank capacity of 32 liters.

Exteriors:

The dimensions of the new Hyundai Eon are 3495 mm in length, 1625 mm in width and 1535 mm in height. The car just weighs 772 kgs and this makes it the lightest car in the country. It has the 155/70/13 tyres which are controlled by front discs and rear drums. In the front it has MacPherson struts whereas on the rear end it comes with the Torsion beam axle. It does have fog lamps as well. The headlights give it the signature Hyundai look.

The interiors of hyundai eon is duel tone which makes it look quite a pleasure for eyes. It also has driver side air bag, front power windows, power steering, central locking and ABS. The boot space Eon comes with is 215 liters which is quite enough.

Variants:

The new Hyundai Eon will come in 6 variants on its launch from Dlite(2.5 lacs) to Sports(3.5 lacs). The 6 Hyundai Eon Variants are Eon D-Lite, Eon D-Lite (O), Eon Era, Eon Magna, Eon Magna (O) & Eon Sportz, with the sports having power steering , airbags (driver side only), keyless entry, power windows (front), tilt steering & a music system.

Hyundai Eon Price

The new Hyundai Eon Price will be anywhere around INR 2.5 lacs and will be competing directly with Maruti’s flagship Alto. The prices may go up to INR 3.5 lacs based on the variants.
